about
I composed this song on the journey to creating an electronic/Gothic/industrial/dance tune for my upcoming Baron Marcus album.
The current state of vocal and piano in this song I found compelling and inspiring, so I wanted to share it with you as-is. It is one piano track and one vocal take (choruses doubled from the same single studio take).
The song came, as it sometimes does, as an irresistible feeling from somewhere beyond.
I thought of an immortal soul, among friends of his kind. But even as flesh may persist, the world changes, and a noble sadness is inevitable. The question arises - how does one live and love in a world that is so passing and fragile. Our immortal subject finds a gentle and sad humor to sustain himself, and in the simple sacred things like "a deep breath and a cup of tea", he finds hope, always hope.
My love to you all – my friends and tribe, a new chapter sweeps over us like the early summer breeze. I look forward to sharing the journey of my album - both the piano-vocal treatments, as well as the electronic / Gothic / industrial dance treatments to come.
